Meet The Founders
|Alex and Emily Counts
Fan club co-founders
Co-founders Alex and Emily Counts, married for nearly 15 years, are both involved professionally in inter-national humanitarian work.
Visit www.grameenfoundation.org to learn more about the organization Alex started.
They first heard the Carter Brothers Band play in Key West in January 2007 and fell in love with the music. Over time, they fell in love with the band members -- all of them! -- and the network of friends and fans that revolves around them. They feel very blessed to be involved with the band and to head this all-volunteer effort to expand and deepen the network of fans and bring this wonderful music to millions of people who have yet to hear it.
In the photo above, Alex and Emily are taking a break after dancing their butts off at the Hog's Breath Saloon in November 2008 to great Carter Brothers tunes like Carolina Backroads, Radio Girl, Shelby Street, Green River, Shacktown Road, Black As Love and of course We Got Work To Do. (And for a slow dance, Chronicle by Carter Brothers friend Michael Orlando can't be beat!")
They have developed a deep respect for people like Brian Budzinski, Nancy Mayhew, Emalyn Mercer, Joan Robbins, Kevin Quick, Rosalie Caudle who have been loyal friends and fans over decades and have helped the band achieve as much as they have so far -- and will doubtless be part of the fun and achievements to come!
